What Is Sprunki Retake?
Retake is coolskull212’s 2024 rebuild of the original Sprunki. Rather than branching into a new premise the way the numbered phases do, it goes back to the first mod and redoes it: the same twenty main characters, but with new sounds written for them.
It is one of the better-documented builds in the scene, largely because the author kept it up on itch.io under their own name instead of letting it scatter across re-uploads.
What It Adds
- New audio for the original twenty. The cast you know, not the loops you know.
- New bonus characters — the documented ones include El Cool P, Retro Mario and Smol.
- Horror-mode versions of the characters, carrying the original’s transformation idea forward.
- A shifted Retake exists as a separate build, along with other branches.
How It Plays
Like the rest of the Sprunki family, this is a drag-and-drop mixer built on the Incredibox format. You pull a character from the tray into an empty stage slot and it starts looping one layer of the track; pull it back off to drop that layer. Loops join on the beat, so anything you stack stays in time. There is no score and no way to lose.

- Brighter than the phase mods — this is a rebuild of the original, not a horror branch, though horror-mode characters are in there.
- A good first stop if you have played the original and want more of the same shape.
