Saving Funbot from Lava

Thirteen Ways This Ends

Funbot hangs from a rope above a lava pit while a giant eye watches. There is a hammer behind glass, a self-destruct button on the wall, and no single correct rescue - the build tracks thirteen separate endings and leaves you to find them.

What Is Saving Funbot from Lava?

One room, one rope, one pool of lava, and Funbot on the end of the rope with his screen face already crying. A giant magenta eye floats behind him. A hammer hangs in the air. On the wall to the right there is a red button under a plate reading SELF - DESTRUCT / ONLY USE FOR SERIOUS EMERGENCY, and a top-hatted Sprunki stands on a ledge watching, doing nothing.

Nothing tells you what to do. That is the format.

It Is An “Ending Game”

This belongs to a genre that grew up on Castle, tagged endingkit, endinggame and endingcube — short scenes where the only goal is to reach outcomes, and the fun is in how many different ones you can trip over. There is no score and no level after this one. There are only endings, and the game quietly keeps a tally of which ones you have seen.

The build carries thirteen ending counters. Their internal names give away the tone better than any description would:

  • goodending, heroending — the two you would expect.
  • badending, dangerending, oopsaccident — the three you will find first.
  • fastending, leavebyebye — the ones for players who refuse to engage.
  • ESCAPE, escapé, escapètu, escapè3 — four separate ways out.
  • RUUUUUNNNNNNNN and PSYCHO. — no notes.

Twenty-eight cards sit behind those counters, so most endings get their own screen rather than a line of text.

The Remix Chain

The version embedded here is the third link in a chain, which is worth knowing because the credit is genuinely shared:

  1. @Zakumifan67473622 built the original deck. Twenty-six cards, no title, and no ending counters at all.
  2. @wowisthisang remixed it into The Lava Ending Game but I Fixed It and added the thirteen ending variables — the tally is their contribution.
  3. @Liam35 remixed that again, kept the title, and pushed it to twenty-eight cards. This is the version most people have played.

The name Saving Funbot from Lava is not the author’s. It is what the aggregators renamed it to, because “Funbot” and “lava” are what you actually see on the first screen.

How To Play

  • Click everything. The hammer, the glass, the button, the alarm, the safe, the piston, the eye, Funbot himself. Objects that look decorative are not.
  • The obvious rescue is one ending, not the ending. Cutting him down safely fills exactly one of thirteen slots.
  • Restart after every ending. The counters are permanent, so nothing you find is lost when you go back for another route.
  • Be willing to do the wrong thing. Half the endings are only reachable by making a decision no rescuer would make.

Before You Play

  • Free, browser-based, no download and no account.
  • Portrait orientation — it was built on a phone, for a phone, and the frame above matches that shape.
  • Not a music mixer. Nothing from the phases or the remakes transfers here.
  • Hosted on Castle by its author. This directory links to their build; the game and its artwork belong to them.

Frequently asked questions

What is Saving Funbot from Lava?

A short point-and-click ending game. Funbot is suspended on a rope over a lava pit and the room around him is full of things you can touch - a hammer behind emergency glass, a self-destruct button, an alarm, a safe, a piston. Each combination resolves into one of the endings the game keeps count of.

How many endings are there?

The build tracks thirteen. Its internal counters are named good, bad, fast, hero, danger, escape, oops accident, leave bye bye, RUUUUUNNNNNNNN, PSYCHO., and three more escape variants. Rescuing Funbot cleanly is only one of them.

Who made it?

It is published on Castle by @Liam35 under the title The Lava Ending Game but I Fixed It. That version is a remix of one by @wowisthisang, which is itself a remix of an untitled deck by @Zakumifan67473622. Aggregator sites list it under the descriptive name Saving Funbot from Lava.

Is it a Sprunki mixing game?

No. There is no stage, no tray and no loops to stack. It borrows Funbot from the Sprunki cast and puts him in an ending game, which is a genre of its own on Castle - the tags on the page are endingkit, endinggame and endingcube.

How do I control it?

Mouse or touch only. Click objects to interact, click Funbot to interact with him, and restart when an ending fires to try a different route. It is a portrait game, so it fits a phone screen as comfortably as a desktop one.

Is it free?

Yes. It runs in the frame above at no cost, with nothing to install and no account needed. The frame loads @Liam35's page on Castle directly, so you are playing the author's build.
